PRVF-7543 : OS Kernel parameter "maxuproc" does not have proper value on node

PRVF-7543

Met an error during Oracle database 19c software installation on AIX 7.2 like this:

PRVF-7543 : OS Kernel parameter "maxuproc" does not have proper value on node "NodeName" [Expected = "16384" ; Found = "128"].

Looks like that an OS kernel parameter maxuproc does not meet the minimum requirement of Oracle database software installation. Let's check the current settings.

# lsattr -E -l sys0 | grep maxuproc
maxuproc        128                                  Maximum number of PROCESSES allowed per user        True

Solution

It's 128. Let's increase it to 16384.

# chdev -l sys0 -a maxuproc=16384
sys0 changed

Let's check the setting of maxuproc again.

# lsattr -E -l sys0 | grep maxuproc
maxuproc        16384                                Maximum number of PROCESSES allowed per user        True

Now we can go back to our installation.
