How to Upload ISO via Back Door

With Oracle VM Manager (OVMM), it can only download ISO from URL such as HTTP, FTP or NFS through the front door. But sometimes, it's not practical for administrator to manage ISOs. In this post, I upload ISOs to the shared storage from client sides via sftp.

First, logon one of Oracle VM servers (OVS) to identify which mount point is the repository which is the destination that we want to upload ISOs.
[root@ovs1 ~]# df -h
Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2              35G  1.6G   31G   5% /
tmpfs                 376M     0  376M   0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda1             477M   85M  363M  19% /boot
none                  376M   40K  376M   1% /var/lib/xenstored
/dev/mapper/36589cfc000000ffa1a4d259e49a77dce
                       17G  263M   17G   2% /poolfsmnt/0004fb000005000013968b48f5e4246e
/dev/mapper/36589cfc000000528045d4f45a9014579
                      180G  6.7G  174G   4% /OVS/Repositories/0004fb0000030000fc533cb8750589e2

Open the console on the client side and upload the ISO to the destination.
> sftp root@ovs1
Connected to 10.68.17.72.
sftp> cd /OVS/Repositories/0004fb0000030000fc533cb8750589e2/ISOs/
sftp> put OracleLinux-R6-U6-Server-x86_64-dvd.iso
...
sftp> quit

Now, you can check the newly uploaded ISO on OVMM.
